A few things that happened today

-

Well, today has been a fine day. I have signed another contract with SingTel, and my rank was upgraded to Retail Executive 2 (something like senior in layman’s term).

-

I also have pre-celebrated my birthday with my friends, Jean and Jairus. It’s just the usual chill-out.

-

And when I got back home, my day was climaxed by a letter from Mindef! While I was tearing the slip of paper, I was telling myself ‘Oh goodness! Don’t let me be the unlucky Permanent Resident who will suffer 2 years of military training. I had enough when I was younger (recalling my military service back in the Philippines)!’

-

But good prayers are always heard. It was an exemption letter.

-

Lucky (lol)!

My O2 Atom has come to a point of deminishing return.

-

It has been a good organiser, but it’s also been a bad phone. There were times when you got no reception, and you don’t even know it. Fair enough, it didn’t hang as much as what other users’ told me.

-

But before I lament in trading in this phone, I’d think first of a good replacement. And there are two of ‘em. The revolutionary (iCandy) iPhone, and the ‘what computers have become’ N95.

-

Update: A good phone with a good number would be even better. At the end of the year, my number will be changed into a golden number. (Chums, please update my contact information).

-

iPhone was the primary choice, of course. Who won’t fall in love with this chic phone? Unless you’re a retard, then you’re excused.

-

But certain things made me think first. Firstly, I don’t wanna be labelled ‘high-flyer’ just for buying this phone, spending hundreds of bucks just to be called as such. Secondly, I won’t be able to use some important functions. The cam for example wouldn’t be as sharp as N95’s 5 megapixel killer camera. And it’s not a 3G phone (who care’s about video call anyway?). Lastly, there’s no warranty. Should I risk?

-

All of these can be resolved by going for the less attractive, value-for-money N95. There’s only one concern. I do not wish to regret buying a ’second’ choice (I didn’t really care about phones before, ’til this day).

Happy Birthday Michelle!

-

Today is a special day for the one of my most valuable colleagues in Comcentre, Michelle Lim.

-

It’s her 27th birthday!

-

I wasn’t able to catch up with the party in East Coast, so I really am feeling paiseh. I can’t sleep because of this. Anyway, I’ll arrange for our own party. We will party hard, until everyone surrenders!

-

All the best, Michelle!
